Lil Wayne Gets The Simpsons Treatment

no-homer-weezy

Later this month, “The Simpsons” will jump into its 21st season with yet another entry in the fantastic “Treehouse of Horror” franchise. To celebrate the upcoming milestone and to pay respects to some great hip-hop icons, Format and Moxy Creative have teamed up to produce a series of limited-edition posters that depict 10 famous rappers “Simpsonized.” The results are pretty great. As you can see in the posse shot below, some real heavy hitters are represented: Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Flavor Flav, Andre 3000, Eminem, Eazy-E and Fat Joe have all been converted into cartoons.

In addition to the posse poster, each MC gets his own individual poster, complete with a customized “O” in the “No Homer” logo (a clever play on the hip-hop catchphrase “No homo”). Kanye gets the shriveled heart from the 808s & Heartbreak cover, while Flav gets a giant clock and Slim Shady gets a pill.

Though “The Simpsons” has featured dozens of guest stars from the music world during its long run, very few rappers have actually shown up on the show (50 Cent famously made a cameo a few years back). While these posters aren’t endorsed by the show, let’s hope it’s a catalyst for getting a few more hot lyricists actually animated and into the program. no-homer-posse

Books: Cookin With Coolio!

Cookin with Coolio

THERE’S ONLY ONE THING THAT COOLIO’S BEEN DOING LONGER THAN RAPPING: COOKING

Coolio started making thirty-minute meals when he was ten years old and has since developed a whole new cuisine: Ghetto Gourmet. His recipes are built around solid comfort foods with a healthy twist that don’t break the bank. Start your Ghetto Gourmet adventure with some “Soul Rolls,” follow-up with “Finger-Lickin’, Rib-Stickin’, Fall-Off-the-Bone-and-into-Your-Mouth Chicken,” and finish off with “Banana Ba-ba-ba-bread” sweetened with golden honey. Chapters such as “How to Become a Kitchen Pimp,” “Chillin’ and Grillin’,” and “Pasta Like a Rasta” will guide you through creating 5 star meals at a 1 star price. You can’t find fusions like Blasian (black Asian) or Ghettalian (ghetto Italian) in restaurants, but you can have them cooking away in your kitchen faster and easier than ordering takeout. As Coolio says, “All you need is a little bit of food, and a little bit of know-how.”

Sen1989 Mo’nique Show Expierence!!

83180ee6-8ec0-b747-8fb5-ea89ab48c4cc-ontv_fb_MoNique_Standing

I got to take a visit to the Mo’nique show and I had a lot of fun! The show is taped in Atlanta so I had to go check it out. Once inside the studio everyone was anxiously awaiting Monique’s arrival. She had a great comedian by the name of Jerod that came by and asked your name and what you do for a living…..just to get the crowd warmed up….Also I was in the front section with Joyce Latell and Lil  Bankhead who both work for one of Atlanta’s hottest radio stations V-103. Rodney who is  Mo’nique’s  side kick on the show was also funny and kept the crowd crunk.  Also I got to see 3 of the greatest rappers all on one stage Coolio, Baby, and Mack Maine.  People think Mo’nique screams a lot but, well she do talk loud LOL so I can’t dispute that one, but she is real cool and down to earth and wanted everyone to have a good time and even apologized to the audience if her crew were experiencing technical difficulties. I even got to dance on the top platform with 4 other people while JaySean, Mack Maine and Baby performed.  I know alot of people don’t like The Mo’Nique Show but I realized that she is the first FEMALE (LATE NITE) African-American host and she is making history, so whether we hate her screaming voice or not we need to support her and  show that we got her back.
